For most people, it is about getting up early in the morning rushing to work and getting stuck in the dreadful traffic jam.

But to me, Mondays are very different. In fact I quite like Mondays… because it’s a day where I can sleep through the morning to replenish my lost energy from the previous night of entertainment .

And it’s also a day where I can catch up with my old friends and just hang out in each others’ homes.

Yesterday’s Monday was a little more exciting than usual. We tried wake boarding for the first time.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t ideal. We wake-boarded under the rain and it proved to be a lot of challenge trying to stay up on the board especially when the water got a little too choppy.

But still, we still had lots of fun.

Trust me on this, you’d rather battle the rain on a wake-board on any given day, than to wiggle your way through the morning traffic, rushing to meet the deadlines, trying to keep your boss happy.

After a few false starts, Jim finally got the hang of it and he started to ride the waves like a king of the sea.

it started to rain when I was up on the board and we had to take shelter at a club house.

After the sky was cleared, it was now the ladies turn to show us what they can do.

First up is Regine.

She is one of our best performer. “Floating” through the waves with ease.

The last one to go is Joey.

Joey didn’t manage to stand up but at least she is able to do get into the squat position.

We all had a lot of fun as well as a great workout. Everyone was up for a second round but we didn’t manage to due to the rain.

We are definitely going to be back again in 1-2 weeks time.

And I aim to cut through the wake and ride the beautiful sea the next time round.

I was packing my old files and came across the receipt for my first workshop in 2004.

Well… all I can say is that 90% of the time, it’s because of the “Magic Headline” that caught your eye and make you react to it.

So in today’s blog post, let’s talk about how you can easier create your own magical headline.

There are 3 categories of headlines: Benefit Headline, Emotion Headline and Benefit and Emotion Combo Headline.

Benefit Headline

Why is this so crucial?

Because that’s exactly the question your site visitor will ask: “What’s in it for me?”

Put yourself in his or her shoes for a minute. “What would you want from this if you were the buyer?

“What will your buyer get?

How will it meet his wishes and needs?

Don’t assume that because the site visitor really doesn’t need the product that he won’t want it.

If he likes it and it’s convenient and helpful, he’ll likely get it.

It’s your job to help him recognize just how helpful it is, just how convenient it is, and just how much he may truly like it!

Benefit headlines are a great direct way to put your message out there.

Here are some examples of direct benefit headlines that I have used before:

Touch on the key matters in your prospect’s life.

Utilize picture words that touch off strong mental images and tug at your reader’s wants.

Add feeling to your content and give your audience the answers they’ve long sought.

There’s nothing more seductive and more likable to your prospect than a couple of potent words that immediately spark off positive, enjoyable feelings.

Desire is a potent force that can work in your favor.

But it first needs to be let loose.

It’s your challenge to awaken the sleeping desire and put across a scenario of possibility.

If your prospect can see it as possible, it brings on a feeling of confidence that he can accomplish it too.

But you need to paint the picture first of all to offer hope and inspiration.

Here’s a couple of Emotional headlines that I like:

Combining these two techniques can also have a really beneficial outcome as you are both pulling at the heartstrings of your side visitor and providing the reason that your product or service can offer a benefit to your buyer.

Put together with a attention grabbing photograph, this can be extremely powerful!

Many people want nice car, but how many can afford it.

It’s not that this is expensive, it’s you can’t afford it.

If you are creeping up on 30 and you still can’t afford a few thousand dollars for something you want then something is wrong with your life.

When I was taking my degree in Fashion, I chose the road less traveled and took up an overseas degree.

I had to beg, promise and fight to get my parents to agree to let me fly to Melbourne, Australia for me to complete my final year degree.

The same goes to your internet business; you can learn on your own or learn from successful marketers.

In today’s fast-paced economy, remaining ahead of competition is a big concern to many of us.

Business has shifted.

People are losing their jobs… businesses are failing.

And regrettably, it takes time to perpetually research; to read up about other businesses and fresh industry strategies.

Finding out through the experience of other people is the shortest path to success.

It shows you the correct path that’s already been fought through by those before you and prevents you from duplicating the same errors that have already been made.

We don’t need to spend years to acquire an MBA to become a marketer.

What we have to do is pick up a book or training materials from one of the proven gurus and finish it while sitting comfortably at home. (not having to fight with parents to take a plane trip).

However, today time is a commodity that’s so scarce when we go after a life of personal growth and career success.

The more successful we get; the less time it seems we have.

Yet, we require this time to perpetually update ourselves to keep ahead of competition.

At times, there’s way too much info out there for us to possibly keep up on; be it fresh business concepts and techniques or the new time and stress management techniques in self-improvement books.

But it is imperative.

I’ll bet you have tried to do a number of things on your own and have received varied levels of success.

Working by ourselves, in a vacuum, almost always leads us to pitiful results.

Regardless what we do or attempt, it doesn’t work the way it should.

The most successful businesses look to experts while not losing sight of their true values and reason for being.

In order to run a successful business, you need to be able to either be an authority in a number of areas, or have access to individuals with the knowledge.

I truly believe in NOT reinventing the wheel.

Just look at Google. They practically copy every great ideas there are out there.

Why attempt to do something from scratch when you are able to learn how to do things better, quicker and cheaper from other people that have “been there”?

It’s really a no-brainer… why not learn from the best and avoid all the garbage?

I received a call from an old friend earlier last week.

His name is Damon, a young guy whom I met in one of the first few internet marketing workshops I’ve attended.

So we’ve known each other for about 4 years now.

He saw one of the ads in the papers about an upcoming seminar that I was conducting and he said he wanted to do some catching up and find out how I was doing with my online business.

We met up for dinner soon after… And I realised that he hasn’t changed much.

Damon was still struggling in his dead-end job and he hasn’t got any website that makes him money.

Then he asked me a question that I get almost every single day. “Jaz, how do you make money from the internet”?

I found it quite hilarious at that moment.

I was like, “Man, how do you think I made money online? We attended the same course”!

Damon went, “I know and I have attended numerous others. But I can’t seem to get started or should I say, I don’t know where to start.”

At that point, I realised that Damon had what you called an “info-junkie” syndrome – A common syndrome that almost all newbies have, especially when they are starting out on their internet marketing venture alone.

And it is very easy to tell whether if you have the “info-junkie” syndrome.

If you’re somebody who hops along seminars after seminars and learn as much as you possibly can, but still never seem to get started… Then yes, you do have “info-junkie” syndrome.

The truth is, there are a lot of different home-business models where one can adopt to make money.

But most people end up overloading themselves with information from a little “here and there” that they get different pieces of the puzzle that don’t fit.

Questions like, “How do I make Money Online?” are derived from confusion and this confusion comes from one thing – People who work online for months, even years, and still don’t succeed can usually attribute their failure to not picking a model and sticking with it!

Well, it’s certainly not as easy as saying, “Okay, I’ll just stick with the affiliate marketing model”. Because, there are in fact hundreds of ways to do affiliate marketing!

Today, you may come across 5 blogs about affiliate marketing that you really like.

So you read everything on their blog and absorbed the information like a sponge.

Now, that should stop you from going confuse right?

Unfortunately for many, the answer is “No.” Because the 5 affiliate marketers may have 5 totally different affiliate marketing models to make money.

It’s definitely a challenge for the average home business owner to make money when they receive ‘mix-signals’ from the different business models out there.

So how should I really get started?

First off, you will need to get a mentor whom you can trust and of course, have made a lot of money from affiliate marketing.

You will want to stick to a plan that has been tested and proven to make money, rather than re-inventing the wheel.

I’ve noticed that there’s a trend going among upcoming marketers who are looking forward to make their first big break in the how to make money online niche.

And very often, this trend leads many marketers who are just starting out, into a downward spiral…. until they give up altogether.

Seriously, there are almost as many people giving up on internet marketing everyday, as there are people who are eager to do this business.

And I found out that one of the main reasons why people get very discouraged from doing this business is that they actually believed that the reason why they’re not making any money online is because they are not “Gurus”.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a student came up to me and asked me if it’s true that it was tough to make money in internet marketing and that it’s better for her to quit because she’ll lose out to the harsh competition by so-called internet marketing gurus…

And she revealed that it was a friend of hers who claimed to have a few years of internet marketing experience who told her that.

And no matter what happens, they’ll still be lagging far behind from those popularly known “Internet Gurus” who have started out many years ago.

Seriously, I was kinda mad when I heard this.

Because nothing can be further from the truth than this.

And I can prove to you that you can even make tons of money on the internet right away without even being a guru…

You see, in January 2009… I decided to take a direction away from the usual internet marketing jazz and try something new all together.

I decided to venture into 2 different niche that I didn’t know a lot about. But the market is huge.

You might have probably guessed… I went into the Forex niche and the Adult niche (where I teach men how to give killer orgasms to women)

(*Time out*… I’m not trying to blow my own horn… In fact, I don’t think I know enough to be branded as a sex guru or any of that sorts and this has nothing to do with porn)

And as for the Forex… I can’t even differentiate between chart A and chart B.

But that didn’t stop me from creating a hyper responsive list of buyers… who would actually queue to get my forex course!

It sounds pretty ridiculous… I’m sure. But I need to clear the air and set the records straight.

If being a Guru means having a huge list and having a stable internet income.

Then, let me tell you… It’s darn easy to be one.

You just have to appear as if you’re are always around… which basically means having a strong web presence.

The secret to this is really simple. All you ever need to do, is to deliver good content to your subscribers and do it
consistently. That’s it!

Sounds like a no brainer ain’t it? It is…

Just put yourself in the shoes of a customer for a moment. What would you normally do before you buy an ebook or video course that you fancy, online?

Buy it right away with no questions asked? Maybe a couple of people would… but just a couple.

What about the rest of the people? Skeptics perhaps?

They probably would search for reviews to see if anyone who bought the product has any feedbacks.

And if they can’t find any, they’ll probably still stick around to see if you provide any more useful information, which they can use without having to risk losing their money if they were to buy right away.

So what happens when you give more valuable free information than what is expected of you?

Your customers will probably think, if your free stuff is already that fantastic… I can’t imagine how great will the product would be!

That’s exactly the kind of emotions that you want your customers to have when they visit your website.

So they’ll feel good about buying your product. It’s that simple.

Seriously, you don’t need to have the approval of others to earn the kind of money that you always dream of.

All you need to do is to provide as much valuable and useful information as possible. And your customers will start looking up to you.

For starters, I would recommend you to start on article marketing… and blog marketing.

But wait, it don’t make sense… how could you sell something that you have no idea?

Simple… I found a team of people who did and I outsourced all the writing to them.

In case you don’t know, you can easily get people to write articles or blogpost for you for just a small fee.

Just go to outsourcing websites like Getafreelancer, Elance or Odesk… and you can take your pick.

So effectively, It didn’t take me an ounce of effort to start an online business nor should I ever be called a guru…

So, the next time when you hear someone complains about not being able to make money on the internet because he or she is not a guru… You probably laugh to yourself… because that would mean 1 less competition.
