It’s time to go for my first holiday of the year.

I just collected my 8 Days e-ticket to Korea.

I will be leaving next Tuesday and this will be my first virgin trip to Korea.

The land of K-Pop.

Received this 2 big Red Packet when I opened my mail box yesterday.

Great start to my new year. I totally love Passive Income.

In my previous post, I spoke about sincerity and passion.

I have always believed that they are necessary ingredients to being successful in whatever you do.

Sincerity and passion also creates the willingness to push forward. But we’re only human, and there will be times when we get tired of pushing for a result (especially when there is none to show for).

Or when life catches up with us, and we have to split our focus on to other things.

That’s when we have to grit our teeth and really be persistent.

And today, I am glad to say that persistence has paid off for me, and of course, my amazing students who believe in what I teach.

They say that proof is in the pudding, so here’s proof #1:

Loy is our first example, of the next few to come.

He enrolled for our training in November.

And as we’ve stated over and over again in our training, our research has consistently proved that our method works.

Loy found that out first hand.

But what’s more important is, he managed to get a sale with less than 10 subscribers in his system.

Sometimes, such things still blow our minds here at the office.

10 subscribers. And 1 sale. That is fast!

The really good thing is, he listened to our advice and didn’t deviate from his course of action. All he did was to ensure that he drove traffic. That’s it.

Likewise, another student of ours is also seeing results.

It’s been a month of 2 after they finished our training that their sales start coming in.

In that time, a lot of other people would have given up already.

But the ones who hung around and persisted eventually saw their efforts pay off. Sure, you may say that a sale is nothing, but a sale means a lot to these people.

To them, it’s proof that this thing works. It’s also the cue for them to keep going, and not give up.

And with this 1 sale, it will lead to their second sales follow by the third and so on…

Many people have this misconception that making money online is an instant thing. That is only partly true.

Like an actual offline business, it often takes time before you see results. Some people are lucky enough to see results fast, like Loy with 10 subscribers.

Some take months and hundreds of subscribers before something substantial happens.

In the case of Carson, he managed to get results after attending an exclusive webinar that we held for our students.

And of course, our star of the day is – Desmond Ang, whose results will truly inspire those who want to see proof that we are not just talk.

His comments have highlighted once again for everyone that it IS not just possible to make money online, but you can definitely make more than pennies! (if you choose not to give up after just a few weeks!)

Most importantly once again, he just followed our instructions and did not take his own initiative to go try out some new guru’s method about Facebook marketing and whatnot.

He took our tried and tested methods, and made 6 sales with it. For someone who’s new to the business, this is a big boost of confidence.

When speaking properly, you would not say, “me is still relaxing.” “My team is still relaxing would be OK.”

Proper English ALWAYS requires you to say, “My team and I are still relaxing.”

Don’t say phrases like, “Me and Joe ate pizza.” Always say, “Joe and I ate pizza.”

Hope that helps. Regardless of any personal belief in the importance of good English usage, the FACT remains you will lose a LOT of credibility when making simple English errors. My belief is that when a writer could care less about having important English content properly edited, they probably perform everything else in the same half-ass manner.

What are my qualifications to make these comments? I have earned an undergraduate degree in English, a Doctor of Jurisprudence law degree and a PhD in International Trade.

Well, I sent out an email a couple of days back about clearing off your debts, and I received a reply from one of my subscribers.

As you can see from the quote above, my subscriber proceeded to correct my English and even gave me some advice, which I highly appreciate.

Some of you may wonder if I would be offended (especially when he said I WILL always perform in a half-ass manner).

The truth is as far as it can get.

I have already accepted that my English is not the best in the world (I got an F in school), so it wasn’t an insult or anything.

But I feel that it is important to show everyone this reply, and my response to it because I don’t believe that my English standard presents a handicap to my business.

Truth is, sometimes, we really don’t have the time to get our English properly edited before we send out our emails.

Especially when we are sending out daily emails.

So, instead of waiting for my writer to come back with my edited email.

I’d rather write out the email myself, and have it sent out immediately. At least the message comes from my heart.

In my opinion, my business would not have succeeded without sincerity, and that is what makes my business tick.

Subscribers are not stupid people. My subscribers are smart, as highlighted in the quote above. Just look at Jack’s qualifications.

A degree in English and a PhD in International Trade.

And me… I can’t even pass my secondary school English exam.

But what I can tell you is that people can detect sincerity.

They know when someone is typing up emails just to get their subscribers to buy something, and they know when the person really cares too.

Besides, people can lie about many things, but results and statistics don’t lie.

It’s the passion about your business that brings the money, not the other way round.

We are a success, simply because we love what we do, with or without a handicap in English.

Sure, subscribers may wonder about my credibility, but that’s at the initial phase.

They always come to realise later on that the passion is obvious. Because let’s face it, finding someone who actually cares in this day and age is rare.

Everyone is out to sell someone something nowadays, be it themselves or their products.

The number of people I know who actually cares is always in my inner circle, and if I ever recommend someone, it’s because I hold that person in high esteem.

These people are always passionate about their business.

Mind you, it’s not the drive to earn the money.

The money will come, it’s almost a given. It’s the love for their work, and the overwhelming need to share without asking for anything back.

That itself works wonders. People often ask me how I managed to become a success, and I tell them the same thing always. Sincerity and passion.

People like people who care, that’s the truth. Throw in passion, and everything skyrockets.

You won’t ever find anything a chore if you are passionate about it. In fact, from the moment you wake up, you will be consumed by a desire to keep going with what you do.

I like to compare this to the courtship process in dating. When a man really likes a lady, he will be motivated on his own to chase her. It works the same way.

So for those out there who think that, just because your English is not up to scratch, please do not be discouraged! Always remember… there are many successful businessmen in Asia, and it’s not because their English is good!

Usually at the end of the year, my friends and I will gather and pool our funds together to donate cash and food to the needy.

So, as you probably know… it’s been a week since my wedding banquet.

But somehow, it feels as though everything just happened yesterday.

I still get excited every time I think about it before going to bed.

It certainly was a wedding like no other.

All the guest were seated at their table in the ballroom anticipating the arrival of the bride and groom.

But everyone soon became bewildered when the banquet commenced with a rather odd message that appeared on the projector screen.

It read, “We are sorry to announce that the wedding banquet is cancelled because the Bride and Groom have met with some unforeseen circumstances and are not able to make it on time. However, the banquet will still carry on and we would like you to watch a short video clip of the wedding ceremony that managed to take place earlier today… We hope you enjoy your dinner.”

Then, a scene of what seemed to be the usual oriental wedding customary practice took over the big screen.

My band of brothers (best-men) and I, went over to my in-laws’ to receive my bride.

Everything resembled the usual wedding video that you see in most banquets until a series of unfortunate events unfolded before the audiences’ eyes.

My bride was kidnapped and I was held captive by some weapon wielding hooligans who knocked me unconscious.

There were mixed reactions in the crowd. Some people became worried, a few others seemed to be spell-bound by the screen not knowing how to react.

It was a video, that no one expected to watch at a banquet.

Somehow I managed to escape and I successfully knocked down five baddies single-handedly in the video.

I even sent a guy flying 2 storeys high with an uppercut punch!

Everyone was eventually relieved when they realized they were actually watching a movie all along!

The movie ended with me rescuing my bride as we made our way to the wedding banquet with a stolen car.

Then, accompanied with a timely romantic song, the lights came on in the ballroom as shimmering confetti’s were being popped all around the room.

Everyone began cheering wildly when we entered the ballroom arm in arm.

It was a grand entrance.

Everyone was having lots of fun throughout the banquet.

It was definitely a night to remember.

Friends and relatives came up to us telling us that this was by far the best wedding banquet they have ever attended.

Atlas, our 6 months of intensive planning and hard work have finally paid off.

We have made our wedding day memorable not only for us, but for our friends and relatives as well.

You might have realized, most wedding banquets are pretty standard.

It usually begins with a short video montage of the newly wed’s childhood and wedding photos.

Then the newly weds will make an grand entrance before being invited on stage to make a toast.

While food are being served, both the bride and groom will walk to every table in the ballroom to take group photos with the guests.

Then the banquet ends subtly without a note as guests bid the family farewell after they finish the last dish of the night.

And we didn’t want ours to be “just another wedding”.

We wanted our guests to leave happily with a positive and lasting impression.

Instead, we took the usual wedding banquet “template” (for a lack of a better description)… personalize it and made it our own.

That’s how our wedding stood out from the rest.

And I found that taking something that’s been proven to work and adding your own personal touch to it can bring you even greater results.

This also applies to your internet business.

In fact, one of the things that I pride myself on in my internet business, is my ability to effectively sell through emails.

I could easily rake in between $2000-$10,000 in 24 hours just by sending an email to my subscribers.

But of course, l started out with using proven email formulas taught by various internet gurus.

I experimented with quite a lot of different types of emails. Some worked, so didn’t.

Some of the email formulas that have worked very well for me over the years includes:

- Hypey but very short emails that creates lot of curiosity.
- Content emails that gives away 1 or 2 tips that my subscribers can apply and see results.
- Giving fair and honest opinions about a product that I have used or have used
by others. (soft-selling)

But what really made the huge difference in my income over the years, is the way I personalized my emails that my subscribers can relate to.

I decided to add in a personal touch to my emails. I wrote my emails to them as if I’m writing a letter to a very close friend.

I’ll also tell them about what I’m doing… share stories about my travels and personal experiences and I’ll even add a picture to the email.

Recently, I sent a couple of emails to my subscribers about how I would like to celebrate my wedding with them by giving them a special gift.

I was going to invite my long-time friend and mentor, Daegan Smith to come down to Asia to give a 2-day live training (By the way, all the seats are sold out)

I learnt many useful strategies from Daegan that made a whole lot of difference to my business and I wanted my subscribers to be able to learn from him as well.

There were only 50 seats available for this training and majority of it were taken up when I sent out a “post wedding” email that described the amount of fun my subscribers could be in for if they were present at my wedding.

Amazing, isn’t it.

There’s not really a whole lot of science into it… just that most people tend to forget that an internet business is a business about people.

NOT the internet… and most certainly… NOT the computer.

When a customer hands you his money and buys your product, it is his way of saying,

“I like you and I trust you”.

With all the competiton on the internet that’s selling similar products, the only way to dominate the market is to set yourself apart from the rest.

Just like how…

Sony dominates the electronics market.
Apple dominates smart phones
Mac Donald’s dominates the fast-food industry… etc.

Ask yourself, how can you be different?

Instead of re-inventing the wheel, how can you improve the way of doing things?

When I first learnt about how to build an internet business, I found that many internet gurus give really great tips.

But most of them don’t provide with very good hands on support. The most I got when I needed help was their email.

Unfortunately, not many of them are on the ball with their email support which could take days or a week to answer my question.

The most frustrating part about it is that when they do get back to me, I couldn’t understand their written instructions.

I mean c’mon… I was a complete newbie then.

To me, giving great support to my students is a huge thing.

I didn’t want my students to struggle with “figuring things out” like I did.

So I have a team of well-trained coaches that my students can communicate with.

Whenever they need help, they can talk to one of my coaches over the phone to solve the problem.

If things still doesn’t work out, we allow them to make an appointment to drop by the office at no charge!

Till today, I still have students coming back to me saying that I provide the best customer support.

And because of this, their friends want to take up my course too.

Again, that’s what I did… I found a proven solution (for this case, providing customer support) and I improve it by personalizing it (giving more personal and intimate help to the customers).

You’ll soon realize that you can also apply this formula to other areas of your life including your internet business.

So remember, the next time you want to do anything successful…

Find a proven solution and add your personal touch to it and you’ll be amazed by the results.

Over the past few days, things had really been hectic… with the wedding banquet that’s coming up in January and among other things . It’s really challenging but definitely worth it.

Luckily,  I’ve managed to find some time for myself and finally get to relax on my favorite chair…

And guess who I thought of?

Just before I get interrupted again with something just as  important, I want to spend some time to give you an update about what has happened in the year 2011 and my goals for the new year… 2012.

Here are some of the breakthroughs I had for this year.

A 2 year old company that I set up is currently running at close to $900,000 sales a year.

If you consider the full affiliate sales that we generated the sales figure should be somewhere close to 1.2 million.

(Sorry that I can’t show any screenshot as my top accountant advise that I should not show my sales statistic online since I am not a listed company yet… Haha : )

I have another company that brought in $170,000 profit this year and I expect it to grow or maintain at this level for 2012.

Considering that I am currently only selling information products I am pretty happy with my efforts.

In fact, I could have done a lot better. Because I wasn’t working much for almost the first half of this year.

I took a long break from Feb – June to enjoy life.

In that period, I have gone on holidays to Taiwan, Hong Kong, China (twice), Bali, and Macau.

And over the last few months, I have also travelled to Hong Kong (again to shop) and Vietnam to play golf.

Come to think of it, I have 8 holiday trips this year. (and that’s amazing)

I almost wanted to squeeze in my annual Japan trip this month (Dec), but because I had to film for my movie and also be involved in my customary wedding preparation in Jan, I had to forgo the trip.

Beside hitting my target of 6 holidays a year, there are 2 highlights that I will fondly remember 2011 for (and both are my childhood dreams)

First off…

In Nov I went into the recording studio to record a cover song.

It’s always been a dream of mine to step into the recording studio to record a song.

As you may not know, I have been learning and practicing my singing for the last 2 years and I am really happy to know I have a chance to sing and record a song.

I was the first vocal student to kick off and I was really nervous during the recording.

Even thou I am still not very satisfied with my voice, I am glad to have the chance to do something that I never thought possible when I was young.

The song is being edited now and I hope it is good enough for me to release it and let you enjoy it.

The second biggest accomplishment for this year is… my upcoming movie.

Have you ever dreamed about being a lead actor or an actress in a movie?

Imagine experiencing the adrenaline rush and excitement when all the attention falls on you and everyone depends on you to give a world class performance even if its only for a short moment.

I have always found acting to be fascinating and I always dreamed about starring in an action movie.

And I’m really glad to say that I’ve done it.

You see, I actually funded a short film movie this year and I played the male lead as well.

I engaged one of the top movie directors in Singapore to help me to direct and write the script for my action-comedy movie. (He is the top dog in Singapore and he currently holds the position of having the top 2 highest grossing movies in Singapore)

I also managed to engage one of the best stunt directors in Singapore. (He is an award winning martial arts expert and the stunt director for one of Aaron kwok’s movie)

I am so glad to have the top 2 experts to help me out.

I want to keep this short film movie as a surprise so I won’t be releasing much information about it for now.

But I will keep you posted.

And here’s one of the scene where I was supposed to escape with the female lead – my wife.

Right now the production crew are busy with the post production and I hope they can get it up soon.

But seriously, I didn’t expect film making to be so tough.

The same scene can be retaken and repeated for an hour or so. But once it’s on the big screen, it can be just a short scene of only 15 seconds.

I am really looking forward to the release of my new movie.

Now on to the business side of things…

When I heard my landlord is thinking of increasing the rent for my office (which is already high in my standard), I decided to go and buy my own office space.

Last month I paid for the down payment of my new office and we will be moving in next year.

I am so happy that I finally have an office that I can call my own.

Another property collected… now I own a total of 4 properties and my aim is 10.

6 more to go and I will retire indefinitely…

In 2012…

I have been cracking my brain to see how I can double my sales (to 2 Millions) in 2012 without much efforts.

And I am happy to say that I have finally found a solution.

I have tested it out with a friend of mine (my guinea pig) for the last few months and I am satisfied with the results (we hit 6 figures in sales)

I plan to open a new company to house my new advertising platform and I am going to employed a new sales manager to run it.

This new business is going to achieve $1,000,000.00 sales in 12 months with only 1-2 employees.

The hardest part is how to achieve millions with minimum effort and I have finally found the answer to it.

The secret is to find the best people you can work with and share the wealth with them.

Many of my peers have asked me how I managed to achieve so much with such a small team.

And my reply is simple… I train my team to think like me – a boss;  that they should treat my business
as they’re business too.

So when the company makes a huge profit… I reward them handsomely to motivate them to work harder.

That’s it!

I will update you on my new business in 12 months time.

Other than that, on a personal level, I would want to go for more holidays (we are planning a 1 month Europe trip) and I would want to purchase my Maserati GT or more properties (Since the prices are going down now).

That’s my plan for the year 2012 =)

I hope you have a goal to strive for the new year… If you haven’t done your goal setting, you still have 2 more days before the start of a new year.

A while ago I wrote about my MVP condition (Mitral Valve Prolapse). You can check out the blog post here. I went back for a check out to make sure my heart valve is still working fine.

I was pretty anxious to know if my condition has worsen. If it gets worse, there are only 2 possible scenario. It’s either I go for operation to replace my valve or in the worse case, I face death.

Here’s the video of the scan. You can clearly see my heart and my valve in the monitor.

After the scan, I am glad to say that my condition did not worsen.

And everything looks fine for now.

This is good news as it means that I get to enjoy life a bit more for now.

Time for me to plan out my 2012.

A couple of weeks ago, I was at a charity seminar called Learnathon.

For the unaware, Learnathon was a social media driven philanthropic initiative that is meant to raise funds for the victims of the recent flooding disasters in Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines.

When I was first contacted, I agreed to do the seminar without hesitation. It was my way of giving back with all the accumulated success that I have achieved over the years. And I am glad to announce that we managed to raise $132,850 for the flood victims.

Moreover, getting together 14 of Asia’s top wealth creation and motivational speakers was a fantastic idea to help do charity, and share the secrets to financial freedom at the same time.

While I was at the event sharing the secrets to my success, a lot of people approached me saying they were very inspired by my success story.

And while I was seated at the front seat listening to the other speakers (There are a total of 14 of us), I find that we all have something in common that separate us from the underachiever.

And that thing is “Taking Massive Action”

Now, we are all born with the same potential for success. There, I said it.

I am a strong believer in that.

People can argue with me and say things like:

‘Jaz, I am not talented in this…’

OR even things like:

‘But I am born into a poor family, I have people to take care of, I don’t have the time…’ and all that blah blah blah.

None of that matters. When I hear such things, I only can think of one word – ‘excuses’.

The fact remains that despite being inspired by my personal success story, most people don’t know that I wasn’t born a talented marketer, a speaker, or a business owner.

They are skills which I picked up along the way in my life.

I sure didn’t come out of my mom’s stomach knowing that I wanted to do Internet Marketing. Heck, Internet Marketing didn’t even exist at that time!

And when I was in my teens, I flunked most of my subjects in school. Especially my English and Chinese, and of course, Science.

When I graduated, I started out with a fashion retail business, which flopped and landed me in huge debt.

Most people would have given up by now. I had nothing to my name at that time. It was indeed the lowest point in my life.

But I was encouraged by this phrase which I read from somewhere before – “When you are at the bottom, there is no other way to go but up.”

I sure didn’t have the money after that to get myself professionally trained in public speaking, so that I can speak in seminars.

(Even up till this day, I still feel a little nervous in front of a crowd.)

In fact, many don’t know this as well, but I am not proficient with web technologies.

Throw me PHP or Javascript, and I am more likely to surf Youtube in order to avoid all that eye-boggling programming code (or whatever nonsense you wanna call it).

So if you wanna argue about talent, I sure as hell don’t have that. Definitely not in the Internet Marketing or speaking area.

But really, all I had was the determination to change my life. I didn’t like feeling trapped in debt, and bound by circumstance.

I wanted freedom. I knew deep down inside somewhere, that I can do it if I put my mind to it.

Forget about talent. The secret to that is “massive action”.

If you feel that you are not good at a subject… Then do more of it.

The more you do something, the better you become at it. That’s how those ‘talented’ people become successful. They keep repeating what they do till they become excellent at it.

Just like learning the piano or dancing, working out in the gym, or learning a new language, no one starts out being fantastic.

They put their minds to it, overcome the first hurdle, and then overcome the other challenges that come along the way.

And they don’t give up. The ‘talented’ people are the ones who never say die.

They are the ones who keep going, pushing their limits, and even innovating to see what they can come up with.

Of course, they are also passionate about what they do, otherwise, they wouldn’t do it in the first place.

Eventually, they get so good it becomes a habit.

But most importantly, it is that they DO. They start. They don’t procrastinate and hold off on their actions.

And the same goes for you.

For those who have been complaining that they are not talented, or that they have no idea how to start, understand that it’s a personal trial you have to go through.

So stop complaining. Take it in your stride and do what’s necessary if you want to achieve what you want.

Talented or not, your actions will determine your fate. How willing you are to go through all that, is entirely your choice.
