Most people didn’t know that several years ago, I graduated from school with a fashion degree.

And I was really proud of it.

During my stint at an internship, I had the chance to work for some of the top retail labels in Europe such as, “Topshop, NEXT, etc.

I tried learning everything I could.

From designing to sales to managing of staffs – I wanted to know what it took to run a successful retail business.

My plan was to open my own line of retail outlets, coz I didn’t want to just work for anybody.

After all, there isn’t much prospect for Fashion students at that time in Singapore.

So after I graduated, that’s exactly what I did.

I opened my first retail shop and I sold shoes.

I was following in my Dad’s footstep actually… (So to speak).

My Dad had been in the footwear retail business for many years.

And he was great at it.

It was his business that saved the whole family from poverty and we were able to lead comfortable lives.

So I figured the easy way to start is to open a retail shop selling something that I’m most familiar with… shoes.

I borrowed some money from the bank and in no time, I got my first retail shop up and running in one of the busiest shopping mall in Singapore.

As expected… business was great.

“I Was Amazed At How Easy It Was”

With the profits, I went ahead to open up my second retail outlet.

And again, business boomed!

I thought to myself, “Man, I’m a great business man”

Everything seemed to go according to plan, so I decided to scale it even further.

I opened a couple more shops.

Every day, I would make my rounds to each shop making sure that things were running smoothly.

I would go to work at 10am and I’ll close shop at 10pm.

I’ve never been that busy in my entire life. But I enjoyed it.

And I was making way more than any university graduate out there.

So what’s there to complain about?

Then one day, the sh*t finally hits the fan.

Prices were soaring and so did the rental.

It was at this time there was also an outbreak of the SARS virus.

There were lesser people on the streets and shopping malls became much quieter.

The economy was declining.

But you know, once you’re on a “winning streak”, people tend to become over-confident.

I didn’t want to quit just yet.

Deep In My Heart, I Hoped Things Would Change For The Better

But it didn’t.

I was absolutely delusional.

By the time I decided to cut my losses, it was already too late.

I was already $180,000 in debt… Well done. (*shakes head)

So unknowingly, I landed myself into the lowest point of my life.

It was a tough pill to swallow.

I was broke.

I decided to for some answers. I needed to know what I could have done differently.

I was pretty sure that big retail labels like Zara and Top-shop faced similar economic challenges.

But they are still around.

So what was it that they did differently?

I went to a local bookstore, hoping to find some self-help books that might be appropriate at that point in time and something caught my eye.

It was a black and purple coloured book called, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”.

Either it was a stroke of good luck or a 2nd chance given by the Good Lord, I was compelled to read this book.

Just a couple of paragraphs and I couldn’t take my eyes of those pages.

After reading the book, I realised I had been doing the wrong things the whole time.

I Realized I Was Not Really A Business Owner

But I was just self-employed.

The shops I had couldn’t run without me.

In short, I was trading my time for money.

And there’s only so much a man can do.

At the rate I was going, my shoe retail business would no way become as big as Timberland, Charles & Keith etc…

Instead, I should learn how to leverage on “OPT” (Other people’s time).

Hire more staffs and teach them exactly what I know about running a shop well.

Coz, it’s much harder to have just 1 person putting in a 100% effort compared to having 10 people contributing only 10% of effort.

By hiring more help, my time and effort can be replaced, which also means…

I’ll have more time to myself to do the things I love.

Man, this is pure gold.

Robert kiyosaki’s indeed a genius.

His book has finally made me see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Suddenly The Fire In Me Got Ignited Once Again

But I didn’t have the resources to start another retail business.

So I decided to follow Robert’s advice to start with something small that comes with an outrageous income potential.

I joined a network marketing business.

It was perfect for me and it had everything that Robert Kiyosaki described in his book.

You get to introduce people into this business and they get to run it together with you.

The more people you recruited, the more money you’ll make and the least effort you’ll have to commit.

The best part was the monthly maintenance fee was only a couple of hundred dollars, compared to the hefty sum I was paying to rent a shop.

I thought… this was it!

But I was faced with another problem.

I sucked at one to one selling.

I did telemarketing and at luckily, did manage to convince some old friends to meet up for coffee.

Each appointment takes about 2 hours of my time. And no matter what I did, I had trouble closing.

Again, it seemed to me like it was another one man show.

Only this time, I had almost zero income.

Before I even gotten good at it, I already exhausted my contact list – yet, another setback.

Once Again, I Turned To The Pages Of ”Rich Dad, Poor Dad”.

Somehow, it seems to have a therapeutic effect on me.

And I still do it from time to time.

Whenever I’m faced with a challenge, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” will be the first book I’ll look into for advice.

I remembered reading a quote that immediately struck a chord in me.

It read something like…

“I Believe That Luck Happens When Opportunity
Meets With Action!”

I realize that it wasn’t because I was bad at something that made it impossible for me to be successful in network marketing.

It’s just that I’ve not yet found the right opportunity that allows me to use the best of my ability to create success.

Thanks to my idol again – Robert Kiyosaki , my objective was even clearer now.

I wanted a business that allows me to leverage on other people’s time, effort and money.

Most importantly, it has to be able to run on its own.

And that’s when I found out about what the internet can really do.

And the rest is history.

In 3 short years, I managed to pay off my six figure debt and still able to generate an annual turnover of 2 million dollars.

Today, I have 4 full-time staffs running my business even when I’m not around.

Proof is… I’m on a honeymoon getaway with my lovely wife in the States and I’m still making money.

That’s The Beauty Of The Internet Business

Frankly speaking, if it isn’t for the book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, I don’t think I’ll ever build an internet business or what it means to be a good businessman.

This book has guided me really well and has brought me so much such that in recent years, I’ve even been invited by one of the world’s biggest wealth seminar organizers to speak for their events.

It’s truly an eye opener and definitely a great honour and privilege to be able to share my knowledge in a grand fashion.

Yes! Finally, I am back from my 2 weeks honeymoon and I just can’t wait to share with you the adventures I had in USA!

It was surprisingly fun in USA and quite frankly, I didn’t really expect it to be this way.

I always have a fear of traveling too far away as I hate jetlag.

The furthest flight I have taken, was to London, which was many years ago.

The 14 hours flight was horrible and I needed 2 days of sleep to over come the jetlag.

And since then, I have never taken a flight of more than 7 hours until my honeymoon.

But when my wife told me that she wanted to go to the US for our honeymoon, I almost ‘flipped out’.

But after much hesitation, I gave in to her but on one condition.

The condition is that we’ll have to take the “Business Class”… so that I can rest better to fight the jetlag (Since it’s a 20+ hours flight, I fear that it may be worst than going to London).

So we checked in on the 30th April.

And I slept almost through out the whole flight.

When I landed in New York, I felt fine (all thanks to the 10+ hours of sleep that I had).

We checked into the really cool psychedelic hotel in Times Square.

And we spent most of our time visiting the major attraction with a little bit of shopping.

This is my first shot of NYC.

One of the main attractions that I like is the Madam Tussauds.

We don’t have that in Singapore and it’s kind of fun taking photos with all the well know figures.

In fact we took so many pictures that I have specially created a video montage for this.

And of course not forgetting the highlight which is the Statue of Liberty.

After spending 4 nights in NYC, we took a 4 hours bus ride to Washington DC to catch up with my buddy Daegan Smith in one of his private workshop.

Picked up a couple of really cool ninja strategies to increase my sales. Will be implementing them over the next few weeks. Let’s see how it goes.

After the workshop, we hopped onto the double decker tour bus and took a day off to sight see.

We visited quite a number of monuments and we took alot of photos.

We went to the White house, Arlington National Cemetery, Jefferson Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Lafayette Square, National World War II Memorial, The Pentagon, Vietnam Veterans Memorial and my favourite Lincoln Memorial (Why is he my favourite… maybe it’s because he is featured in some of my favourite movies like Night In The Museum and Transformers)

After 3 days in DC, we took a 7 hours flight to LAS VEGAS!

Now this is the fun part.

There are simply too many things to do in Vegas. So many casinos to see, so many places to shop and so many shows to catch.

I just hope that we have more time in Vegas.

We stayed in a hotel call “Treasure Island”. The hotel was pretty okay and it was close to all the main hotel attractions.

The first thing we did was to check out the Premium Outlets there.

We spent a bomb there and in just one day, our total damage was $3000.

We brought so many things that we have to buy a new luggage just to fit all the new purchases in.

Beside the shopping, we also catch 2 shows.

One is the Blue Man Group.

And the other one is the world famous David Copperfield.

I enjoyed David Copperfield performances alot as I didn’t expect him to be so active with the audiences.

He was getting everyone involved in the performances and you can see that all the audiences love it.

And by the way, here’s my favourite shop : Affliction

I love their clothes and we brought 16 items from them.

I just can’t shop enough and I literally had to tell myself to STOP!

Vegas is definitely a place that I will go back for it’s shopping and shows.

I am not really into gambling but I love the shows and performances in the casino.

I would want to be back soon.

After Vegas, we rented a car and took a 4 hours drive to Los Angelas, Santa Monica.

It was pretty exciting and scary as this is my first time driving a left hand drive car.

The drive was pretty smooth and easy to LA.

When we are in LA, the first time we did was to visited Hollywood, Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills.

It was quite interesting to see how Hollywood is like.

The next day, we went to Universal Studio Hollywood and we had a lot of fun there.

Luckily their Universal Studio is different from our Singapore version.

I get to see a lot more stuffs that I can’t see in Singapore.

I visited 80% of the attractions and my favourite is the Universal Tour where they bring you around the studios and show you how movies are made.

It was excited and they even try to mimic the movies.

Overall… after visiting 4 states (New York, Washington, Las Vegas and Los Angelas), my overall favourite place is Los Angelas, Santa Monica.

It is the combination of the activities in New York and the calmness of Washington.

I totally love this place and our hotel is directly opposite the beach (which add in the cool factor).

Looks like I am going to head back to the US sooner than I expected.

We took an all Business class flight home and we slept throughout the flight.

When I finally arrived home and I login to my Paypal. I saw this amount of commissions waiting for me to withdraw.

Ahhhhh!!!!!!

Over the last 2 weekends, I have been doing 3 full days of live training, back to back.

With little rest, I could feel the effects taking its toll on my body.

The previous live training I did was about 5 months ago and I made sure I got a lot of rest time before I charged up for my next live training.

So it’s definitely going to take me a little time of getting used to teaching again.

Last weekend was a little unfortunate for me. I fell ill half way through the course and I had to get my trainers to help me cover some of the topics.

But even though I was feeling sick, nothing can take away the joy I have when I see my students creating success using our proven system.

Here are some of the fantastic results that I want to share with you.

Even before our training ends, one of our students is already generating 30+ leads into his business.

And take a look at Pauline’s result, she did exactly what we told her to do and on the last day of the training, she actually got her first sale online.

Do keep in mind though that the testimonials you see here are your average regular folks who have no IT knowledge at all.

And look at what happen 1 week after attending the 3 days live training workshop?

And before I go, I wanted to give a special shout out to Kelvin Ng.

Kelvin is a young man in his early twenties, who was recently diagnosed with cancer just about a week before the 3 days live training workshop.

When he arrived in class, I was told that he underwent chemotherapy earlier in the morning so he was feeling a little weak.

His Mum accompanied him to and helped to take notes in case he dozed off.

What really moved me was… this young man didn’t give in to his illness.

He stayed awake throughout the 3 days no matter how tired he was.

This guy’s a fighter.

And I can tell you… his determination and perseverance paid off.

When he went home, he applied what he learnt from the workshop… and voila~!

He made his first sale on the internet!

And he had another came in on the 24th April.

I’m sure, with the consistent amount of action that Kelvin is taking… in no time, his internet business is going to pull in endless amount of cash like a true internet entrepreneur’s.

Kelvin is definitely someone who truly deserves our utmost admiration.

If he can overcome his obstacles in order to achieve what he wants.

I’m sure so can you.

One of the most often asked question I received is :

“Jaz, I have limited marketing budget. How can I drive target traffic to my website for free?”

If you are facing the same problem (especially when you are starting out), then you will love this under underutilized method that I am going to share with you today.

What I am going to share with you today is what we call: Forum Marketing.

Forum marketing is a great way that internet business owners use to promote their product or idea.

It is one of the most popular free advertising methods on the internet today.

All it takes is a little time and effort on your part on a daily basis on whatever discussions are going on for that current day.

There are five very good reasons why forum marketing works great for many website owners.

1. Whenever you post, you are helping someone else that may have a problem or suggestion.

This will give you a feeling of satisfaction that you have done something to help someone else.

Also the concept of give and you shall receive definitely applies here.

If you give to another member then you shall receive when they click on your signature line and visit your site.

2. You will also learn a lot of valuable and very useful information for absolutely no cost to you.

When you first join a forum it is a good idea to lurk around the forum for anywhere from a couple of days to a week till you get the feel for the forum.

As you read other peoples posts you will be surprised at the amount of free information that you will receive.

This information can be a valuable tool to increase your forum marketing campaign.

3. You get free advertising through your signature line.

As you begin to post on the forums people will begin to see your signature line and click on it which leads them directly to your website.

This is where you can advertise your domain name and business.

This free advertising can add up to a lot of profit through the sales of the forum members.

4. Search engines will give you a credit when you create backlinks after creating a hyperlink to your website.

These backlinks will increase your ranking in the search engine.

The higher you are on the search engine the more customers you will generate outside of the forum. This will, as a result, lead to even more profits.

5. You can get ideas for articles that you can place on your blog or the article submission site of your choice.

When you submit an article to any of these sites, you can also add your website address.

Once again this will drive even more traffic to your site and lead to even more profits.

Remember: You are not allowed to post your domain name in the post itself though as this is considered spamming and can get your post deleted and you banned from the forum.

Place them in your signature instead.

To search for forums related to your niche. Go to Google and key in “Niche +forum” and you will see tons of related forums that you can market to.

Another option is to go to Big-Boards.com and search for your niche.

Once you have chosen your forum, go and start posting and you will see traffic and sales start rolling in.

As you can see a forum marketing site is a great benefit to have.

With all of the different ways of earning profit you will be raking in the money in no time.

Today’s post is going to be a confidence builder for a lot of people who are still considering whether building an internet business is something that they want to do for the long-term.

Recently, I’ve been invited to speak at an internet business seminar event.

I was scheduled to tour around asia to share my secrets about how I made money online.

Even though the audience were impressed at my results as well as my students, there are still a
minority of people who doubt that this new-age business would work out for them.

It’s funny how some people come to an internet business seminar to learn about how to create wealth online.

But when it comes down to getting their hands “dirty”, most of them would freeze in their tracks.

And I found that the number one excuse that’s stopping a lot of people from experiencing true internet wealth is that they believe that running an internet business requires lots of technical knowledge.

But if you’ve been following up with my emails and blogpost, you know that it’s just one huge myth.

Because one thing’s for sure, I still have no idea how to set up a website.

And it has not stop me from making at least a 5-6 figure every month.

This is the truth that people need to know – knowing how to build a website and knowing how to make money on the internet is completely 2 different skillsets.

I mean, there are guys I know who are excellent webmasters or programmers who build fantastic websites.

But they are still working for someone else.

If all it takes to become rich on the internet is to know how to create a website, then a lot of people would be rich by now.

Afterall, there are courses available in polytechnics and universities that teaches you website building stuff like… html, css… etc.

But they don’t teach you how to make money from your websites.

But here’s a piece of good news that you want to get excited about is that… learning how to make money online is actually a lot more easier.

Once you are able to accept the fact that learning how to make money is as easy as surfing the net or sending out an email…

You’ll probably start to see results just like Gary, a 19 year old student from Malaysia.

Now, Gary didn’t come from a well-to-do family and he’s still living with his parents.

Like me, he also didn’t have an I.T background nor is exceptionally good with computers.

He was just a regular kid who needed a way out of “Broke-ness”

When he came to me, he only had RM$5 in his wallet. Just imagine… RM$5 is equivalent to about US$1.50?

Yeah, you are probably wondering… what can you do with US$1.50.

Just for the record, you can still get a nice bowl of noodles down by the hawker in Malaysia.

But obviously, Gary didn’t just want to have RM$5 in his pocket every single day.

And here’s the thing, he just started dating his girlfriend.

And I’m sure every guy understand the pain of not being able to take his girlfriend out on a nice
date just because he doesn’t have enough money.

And it hurts him that every time he takes her out, he had no choice but to get allowance from his old man.

If he was lucky, he can get as much as RM$40 (US$13).

And it’s just enough to watch a movie and a cheap dinner at a hawker centre.

As broke as he was… What really moved me was his determination to sign up for my 3 days workshop.

When we met, I told him the same thing I tell all my students.

If you can show me 100% commitment, I’ll give you two times the commitment toward your success.

And things start to get better after the 3 days.

You see, just a month after attending the workshop, Gary has hit his RM$5000/month mark.

Check out his message that he send me through Facebook.

Quite frankly, to some people… earning RM$5000 is not really a big deal.

But for a young kid who’s barely making ends meet, RM$5000 is a huge break-through.

In fact, I just received his latest message not too long ago where he hit his first RM$1500 a day.

And his target is to continue to hit at least RM$1000 every single day (All these within 60 days of completing his training with us).

I decided to get Gary on the phone, just to see how he was doing. And he told me something interesting.

Something that could probably inspire you too, to take action for your internet business.

He said…

“Last week I went out shopping with my girlfriend. And for the first time while buying stuff, I
didn’t bother to see how much money I left.

Usually, I’ll be cautious with what I spend on, just to make sure that I still have some money left for dinner.

But things have changed last week. Anything I saw that I like, I just bought it.

I could finally tell my girlfriend not to worry about the price and she can just go ahead and pick out her favorite dress.

I ended up spending a little over a RM$1000 that day. It was really amazing. I’ve never spent that much money in a day before. But it felt really great…”

This is probably going to piss some hard-working internet entrepreneurs.

Because Gary spends only an hour promoting his business.

Seriously, with just 1 hour… I can tell that there’s no technical stuff that needs to be done.

Go ahead and asks the experts. Some people need the whole day to build a website… and they don’t make money out of it.

What Gary does is, he clones my system.

It’s just like copying and pasting.

Something I’m sure most people can do.

And Gary is just one of the many testimonials from our students who have gone through our workshop and used our system.

Like me, you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to build a business online, that will help you earn passive income for the life that you want to get.

Every minute that you delay from here on, makes it even more difficult for you to start. Here’s why.

At the very beginning when the Internet became commercialized, and people began selling online, it was easy to get your websites up on the #1 ranking.

Article marketing back then was really easy. You just needed to build backlinks to your article, and that will get it up on Google’s top 10.

I am very lucky to have seize the chance to start my internet business when I saw this opportunity years ago.

As you know, I’m keeping my finger crossed for a “dragon” baby this year.

My wife wanted to make sure that she is both medically and physically fit to get pregnant, so she decided to take on a friend’s recommendation to visit a Chinese Medical Sensei in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Apparently, it’s not easy to book an appointment with the Sensei.

And my wife had to book 2 months in advanced.

Just when you thought you could enter the Sensei’s room after travelling
hundreds of miles.

Plus being on time… there’s a freakin’ long cue of about 12 people ahead of you.

When I heard this, I was thinking…

“Man, is this guy a miracle healer of some sort?”

Trust me, you’d be thinking the same thing too soon enough.

Okay, so it’s finally my wife’s and her friend’s turn to meet the Sensei.

The Sensei asked my wife to rest her hand on the wrist pillow as he gently pressed his fingers onto her pulse.

And within a few seconds he told her about the illnesses she used to have that could possibly relapse.

Mind you…

This Sensei has no previous medical records of my wife or whatsoever.

This is only the first visit.

But just by feeling the rhythm of the pulse, he could tell you exactly where the problem is in detail.

My wife’s friend was next.

And after feeling her pulse.

He could tell that she had a miscarriage once and he diagnosed her accordingly.

And he also mentioned that her kidney is failing and if she don’t strengthen it now, something ‘bad’ will happen.

She was so sad to hear it that she ended up being depressed for a free days.

Both patients were given a small prescription of pills.

But guess how much was the consultation and prescription fee?

My wife paid $200 and her friend paid a hefty $300.

And this guy sees an average of 30 patients a day!

Considering if he takes the weekend off, that’s like $6000/day… $35000/month!

Imagine having your internet business generates you that sort of income every single day.

You probably never have to look at the right side of the menu ever again whenever you walk into a restaurant.

So why am I telling you this?

Get this… I’m pretty sure most people would agree with me that this Sensei is indeed the real deal.

I mean, he gives detailed diagnosis even before doctors can detect the problem.

But to me, this Sensei is also a fantastic salesman.

Don’t you think so?

He easily builds rapport by stating existing problems or illness you have that no one knows about except you.

And he further creates the need and the sense of urgency when he tells you the importance of treating the problem right away.

And you’ll convince yourself that treating the problem NOW is the best solution that you can’t wait to get the cure.

You’ll just be ready to buy.

That’s like selling without having the need to sell – in action!

Well, I’ve also visited a Chinese Sensei once.

Despite meeting me for the first time and having no previous records of my medical status…

He could tell that I don’t have a very healthy heart and among other things.

Luckily he said that I didn’t need any supplements.

All I need is to have enough sleep and exercise and I’ll be fine.

Trust me…

If he told me that I can be cured with a $1000 ginseng and if I don’t eat it… I’ll have to live with an healthy heart for the rest of my life…

I’ll buy it right off the bat!

Are we on the same page here?

If you can relate to your customers by pointing out the challenges and difficulties they face (especially the first time you meet), they’ll start listening to you.

It shows people you’ve been there and you absolutely know what you’re talking about.

That’s why it’s always important to put yourself in your customers’ shoe… So you know the problems they are facing in their internet business.

This is how you can get them to trust you overnight!

This may or may not be easy for you to understand.

But look, I have spent my fair share of money on internet business courses and stuff that didn’t work before I got to where I am today.

I struggled with hard work too… often wondering whether I’m on the right track.

And I’m not even computer literate, which puts me at a huge disadvantage
compared to most people.

But I manage to over come that.

So hang in there cause once you understand how this work, nothing will stop you.

Next, lead them to see and understand the weight of the problems they’re facing.

Such that, if they don’t do anything to solve the problem now… it’ll continue to persist or even be detrimental in the long run.

That’s when your products would seem ever more valuable to them… because you have the cure.

Don’t be surprise that some of the best salesletters today are written in the exact same format too.

It converts sales like crazy.

But to an inexperienced person who’s never been exposed to sales and marketing,
they can’t tell you exactly what’s the difference between a normal letter and a sales letter.

They can only tell you how compelling they felt reading the salesletter that they even want to buy it too.

Go ahead and try it!

Now that I am done with all the celebration for the last 3 months. (My ROM, Christmas, New Year, my customary wedding, Chinese New Year)

It’s time to go for my first holiday of the year.

I just collected my 8 Days e-ticket to Korea.

I will be leaving next Tuesday and this will be my first virgin trip to Korea.
