For most people, it is about getting up early in the morning rushing to work and getting stuck in the dreadful traffic jam.

But to me, Mondays are very different. In fact I quite like Mondays… because it’s a day where I can sleep through the morning to replenish my lost energy from the previous night of entertainment .

And it’s also a day where I can catch up with my old friends and just hang out in each others’ homes.

Yesterday’s Monday was a little more exciting than usual. We tried wake boarding for the first time.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t ideal. We wake-boarded under the rain and it proved to be a lot of challenge trying to stay up on the board especially when the water got a little too choppy.

But still, we still had lots of fun.

Trust me on this, you’d rather battle the rain on a wake-board on any given day, than to wiggle your way through the morning traffic, rushing to meet the deadlines, trying to keep your boss happy.

After a few false starts, Jim finally got the hang of it and he started to ride the waves like a king of the sea.

it started to rain when I was up on the board and we had to take shelter at a club house.

After the sky was cleared, it was now the ladies turn to show us what they can do.

First up is Regine.

She is one of our best performer. “Floating” through the waves with ease.

The last one to go is Joey.

Joey didn’t manage to stand up but at least she is able to do get into the squat position.

We all had a lot of fun as well as a great workout. Everyone was up for a second round but we didn’t manage to due to the rain.

We are definitely going to be back again in 1-2 weeks time.

And I aim to cut through the wake and ride the beautiful sea the next time round.

When I was taking my degree in Fashion, I chose the road less traveled and took up an overseas degree.

I had to beg, promise and fight to get my parents to agree to let me fly to Melbourne, Australia for me to complete my final year degree.

This was the 1st time I was exposed to internationally acclaimed, successful designers.

Learning from successful designers like them was definitely the first step to helping me to hone my designing skills (consequently ending up working for a few well known local and international brands).

The same goes to your internet business; you can learn on your own or learn from successful marketers.

In today’s fast-paced economy, remaining ahead of competition is a big concern to many of us.

Business has shifted.

People are losing their jobs… businesses are failing.

And regrettably, it takes time to perpetually research; to read up about other businesses and fresh industry strategies.

Finding out through the experience of other people is the shortest path to success.

It shows you the correct path that’s already been fought through by those before you and prevents you from duplicating the same errors that have already been made.

In an ideal situation you get close to successful people in areas of your life that you admire, simply to have that brief conversation with them to find out how they did it…

Like I was able to with well know designers.

But remember this as well, successful people publish books and hold seminars and workshops.

We don’t need to spend years to acquire an MBA to become a marketer.

What we have to do is pick up a book or training materials from one of the proven gurus and finish it while sitting comfortably at home. (not having to fight with parents to take a plane trip).

However, today time is a commodity that’s so scarce when we go after a life of personal growth and career success.

The more successful we get; the less time it seems we have.

Yet, we require this time to perpetually update ourselves to keep ahead of competition.

At times, there’s way too much info out there for us to possibly keep up on; be it fresh business concepts and techniques or the new time and stress management techniques in self-improvement books.

But it is imperative.

I’ll bet you have tried to do a number of things on your own and have received varied levels of success.

Working by ourselves, in a vacuum, almost always leads us to pitiful results.

Regardless what we do or attempt, it doesn’t work the way it should.

The most successful businesses look to experts while not losing sight of their true values and reason for being.

In order to run a successful business, you need to be able to either be an authority in a number of areas, or have access to individuals with the knowledge.

I truly believe in NOT reinventing the wheel.

Just look at Google. They practically copy every great ideas there are out there.

Initially there is Hotmail, they created Gmail.
How about iPhone… they create Android.
With Twitter, they created Google Buzz.
And many many more…

Why attempt to do something from scratch when you are able to learn how to do things better, quicker and cheaper from other people that have “been there”?

It’s really a no-brainer… why not learn from the best and avoid all the garbage?

I’ve noticed that there’s a trend going among upcoming marketers who are looking forward to make their first big break in the how to make money online niche.

And very often, this trend leads many marketers who are just starting out, into a downward spiral…. until they give up altogether.

Seriously, there are almost as many people giving up on internet marketing everyday, as there are people who are eager to do this business.

And I found out that one of the main reasons why people get very discouraged from doing this business is that they actually believed that the reason why they’re not making any money online is because they are not “Gurus”.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a student came up to me and asked me if it’s true that it was tough to make money in internet marketing and that it’s better for her to quit because she’ll lose out to the harsh competition by so-called internet marketing gurus…

And she revealed that it was a friend of hers who claimed to have a few years of internet marketing experience who told her that.

And no matter what happens, they’ll still be lagging far behind from those popularly known “Internet Gurus” who have started out many years ago.

Seriously, I was kinda mad when I heard this.

Because nothing can be further from the truth than this.

And I can prove to you that you can even make tons of money on the internet right away without even being a guru…

You see, in January 2009… I decided to take a direction away from the usual internet marketing jazz and try something new all together.

I decided to venture into 2 different niche that I didn’t know a lot about. But the market is huge.

You might have probably guessed… I went into the Forex niche and the Adult niche (where I teach men how to give killer orgasms to women)

(*Time out*… I’m not trying to blow my own horn… In fact, I don’t think I know enough to be branded as a sex guru or any of that sorts and this has nothing to do with porn)

And as for the Forex… I can’t even differentiate between chart A and chart B.

But that didn’t stop me from creating a hyper responsive list of buyers… who would actually queue to get my forex course!

It sounds pretty ridiculous… I’m sure. But I need to clear the air and set the records straight.

If being a Guru means having a huge list and having a stable internet income.

Then, let me tell you… It’s darn easy to be one.

You just have to appear as if you’re are always around… which basically means having a strong web presence.

The secret to this is really simple. All you ever need to do, is to deliver good content to your subscribers and do it
consistently. That’s it!

Sounds like a no brainer ain’t it? It is…

Just put yourself in the shoes of a customer for a moment. What would you normally do before you buy an ebook or video course that you fancy, online?

Buy it right away with no questions asked? Maybe a couple of people would… but just a couple.

What about the rest of the people? Skeptics perhaps?

They probably would search for reviews to see if anyone who bought the product has any feedbacks.

And if they can’t find any, they’ll probably still stick around to see if you provide any more useful information, which they can use without having to risk losing their money if they were to buy right away.

So what happens when you give more valuable free information than what is expected of you?

Your customers will probably think, if your free stuff is already that fantastic… I can’t imagine how great will the product would be!

That’s exactly the kind of emotions that you want your customers to have when they visit your website.

So they’ll feel good about buying your product. It’s that simple.

Seriously, you don’t need to have the approval of others to earn the kind of money that you always dream of.

All you need to do is to provide as much valuable and useful information as possible. And your customers will start looking up to you.

For starters, I would recommend you to start on article marketing… and blog marketing.

But wait, it don’t make sense… how could you sell something that you have no idea?

Simple… I found a team of people who did and I outsourced all the writing to them.

In case you don’t know, you can easily get people to write articles or blogpost for you for just a small fee.

Just go to outsourcing websites like Getafreelancer, Elance or Odesk… and you can take your pick.

So effectively, It didn’t take me an ounce of effort to start an online business nor should I ever be called a guru…

So, the next time when you hear someone complains about not being able to make money on the internet because he or she is not a guru… You probably laugh to yourself… because that would mean 1 less competition.

Do you remember when was the last time you accomplished a goal so great that you are really proud of?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be anything related to financing returns or what not… just something that you are really passionate about and that it means the whole world to you if you were to achieve it.

It can be anything… What does it feel like to be in that moment of triumph and relief knowing that all your hard work has been paid off.

It’s an amazing feeling isn’t it.

Quite honestly, I haven’t felt that kind of great sense of achievement in a long time… until just 2 days ago.

I became a pop star in my own right… and I performed live in front of 100+ people for the first time in my life!…

Well, I hope this doesn’t come off too much of a surprise for you…

As you probably have read in my previous email one year ago, I mentioned that I took up vocal lessons to improve on my singing.

But seriously, being able to put up a performance and sing in front of a live audience was the last thing on my mind.

I just didn’t want to sound too embarrassing when I’m out on a karaoke session with my friends.

You probably don’t believe this, but I actually make people laugh when I sang.

I couldn’t hold on to a single note without breaking into a yelp.

And every time this happens, they would just break into a laughter immediately.

And for a good time, I’ll go to such sessions only to find myself passing on the mike to someone else, throughout.

It’s like I’m paying my share of the karaoke session… just to hear them sing!

Well, it probably isn’t a big deal… But hey, I have feelings too.

And I want to be able to sing at least, in tune.

So there I was, attending weekly vocal lessons religiously for the past 1 year…

And I even went for Muay Thai lessons to work on my shape as well as building up my stamina.

It wasn’t easy… But it eventually paid off a thousand folds!

Because one day, my vocal coach came to me and he suddenly said…. “I think you are ready to graduate”.

And graduation means performing in front of a live crowd.

Not to mentioned that I got cold feet.

I felt for somebody like me who used to be tone deaf but also, not being able to sing higher than a bass guitar, this was a very big transition.

So, the day of the concert have finally arrived (20th March)… Half an hour before the performance started and I was already a nervous wreck.

I couldn’t remember the lyrics!

Then the lights dimmed… And I heard the MC announced my name… “LET US PUT OUR HANDS TOGETHER AND WELCOME… JAZ LAI”.

My heart almost skipped a beat.

Luckily, I’m used to speaking on stage when I’m conducting seminars. So my instinct was to break the ice and let the audience see the goofy side of me.

I joked about being so nervous that I’ve completely forgotten my lyrics… that I’ve to take along the music stand.

They laughed… and that calmed me a little.

Then the music came on… And the rest was history. Check out the video clip of me below.

I felt like I was in a trance when I was singing my heart out… swaying to the melody of the music.

Even thou I may not have the best voice but I am definitely enjoying singing for my friends.

Then I was awaken with the sudden roar of applause… When I look across the stage, I saw some people in the audience nodded in approval.

Some of my friends even held up signs that read, “Jaz, We will always support you”!.

All this made me really happy… But still, I can’t help but laugh… because it seems that I’m already growing a fan base.

To me, this is more than a dream come true…

I’m sure to a few people, this is probably a night to remember.

But one thing is certain… It is a night that I’ll never forget.

My friends are playing it, their friends are playing it and looks like alot of people are playing it. So why not me…

Went to send up for my golf lesson today and looking forward to playing it twice weekly.

Here’s my first golf shot.

Something happened last week… that set me in tracks and got me to re-assess myself.

I went out a with a couple of good friends for a karaoke session…. We had a lot of beer and we messed up the lyrics of the songs.

We had a really good time when suddenly… I became breathless and had palpitations.

My vision blurred and I couldn’t hold myself steady. I was freaking my friends out.

It felt like a panic attack… Because I became very nervous and I was sort of disoriented.

And I really thought that I was going to die.

Perhaps I was just over-reacting, after all I did had a little too much to drink. But then again, I never had such experience before.

My friends chided me to go to the hospital. But I declined. I told them everything was going to be okay and I just needed a rest.

So I sat down, took a gulp of water and started taking deep breaths of air…

I just couldn’t fall asleep that night.

I couldn’t help thinking what would happen to everything and everybody around me if I just suddenly died.

I shivered just by thinking about it. This was the first time I was truly afraid of dying.

It’s kinda ironic because I used to tell people that I have achieved all my goals and now I’m living my dream lifestyle.

So even if I were to drop dead today, I would do so with absolutely no regret.

At that moment, I knew I was wrong… I wasn’t exactly living my life to the fullest.

Yes, I did have a great lifestyle that some of you may relate to.. making new friends, traveling around the world, partying and buying the toys that I want…

But deep down, I felt like I was kinda wasting my life away with all the late nights partying…

My health was failing.

I had the sudden guilt… because I knew I was the main cause of it.

Actually I’ve all along been keeping a secret that I didn’t share with anybody beyond the family and a few close friends.

Well, I didn’t think it was much of a big deal at that time… So I didn’t paid much attention to it anyway.

Seven years ago, while I was doing a routine full-bodied check-up. The doctor then ran the stethoscope along my chest and said that I had a irregular heart beat.

So I was put through to some other tests and the result confirmed that I’m suffering from a heart valve condition called Mitral Valve Prolaspe.

This came as a shock to me, because I was very active at sports at that time. And I never did experienced any kind of symptoms.

The doc says that this is quite a common condition and a few percentage of the people in the world have this condition.

So to put it in layman terms… A normal chambers would open and close each time the heart pumps in a rhythm, propelling oxygen-rich blood into the arteries.

Mitral Valve Prolaspe is a condition when the left and right chambers of the valve does not close properly.

A weak chamber like mine… may collaspe, causing a backflow of blood… which will inevitably result to serious health problem or in worst case – death.

As of now, the doctor say I am still young so he didn’t want to do any drastic operation and put me on medication for the rest of my life… and it’s something that I gotta live with it.

It sure sucks to be me.

It was from then on.. that I told myself that I would accomplish my financial goals by the age of 30, while I still got the energy.

Well I manage to hit most of my target by the time I am 30 and I have been having quite a bit of fun for the last 3 years.

But last night at the Karaoke bar, turned my life around literally.

It seems that I found a new meaning in life.

I realized that there’s so much more to life than partying and enjoying yourself… your health is in fact your true wealth.

If your not serious in taking care of your health. All that hard-earned money is still going to go into the medical bills… eventually.

Yeah, it’s pretty obvious ain’t it?

But I guess, as humans… we often take things for granted and we forget to cherish the things we already have. And yet, we go all out to try to get the things we think it’s important to us… But it really isn’t.

I just wanna throw this out there… So whenever, you feel that you’re over-indulging in yourself. you’ll take a step back and tell yourself… “Slow down, I need to be in good health”…

It’s been 1 whole month since I last emailed you.

I was on holiday in Japan (Tokyo) and the Philippines (Manila).

It was a fantastic trip where I experience snow for the first time.

Besides the holidays, Feb was a great month where I hit $126,000 pure profit.

Now I am laying out the system so that I can rake in monthly 6-figures consistently.

I am definitely looking forward to a profitable 2010.

In today’s blog post, I wanted to share with you a very important lesson on how I am able to achieve the success that I wanted.

“The Person Who Really Wants To Do Something Finds a Way;
The Other Person Finds An Excuse!”

If your dreams are really that important to you, you will always find a way to make them happen.

But of course, this doesn’t mean that you won’t run into obstacles or experience setbacks along the way.

Quite frankly, You might even endure your fair share of actual failures.

It’s what you do with these experiences that count!

If you sit back and say bitterly…

It just wasn’t meant to be.
I’m not meant to succeed.
Events like these wouldn’t happen to me.
I couldn’t do it no matter how hard I tried.

Then you are just buying into excuses.

Excuses so often seem like undeniable truth but not until when we stand back to look at them objectively.

Circumstances might NOT have worked for you, but how hard did you try to get around limitations and problems?

You might not have been able to do it . . . yet.

But are you going to stop here, or are you going to find a way to make it happen?

The story isn’t over until you write the words – The End -

Only your refusal to keep fighting can make your excuses come true.

Only easing up on your efforts can decrease your progress.

On the other hand, if you simply refuse to give up and keep pushing on no matter what… something good will eventually come out from it.

It might take longer that you expected.

You might feel that you’re working hard for nothing because it’s just not going to happen for you.

You might be tempted to quit a thousand times.

But if you set your mind to finding SOME way to make it work for you, you will do it.

The trick is to not get caught up in excuses and self-doubt.

Don’t base your intensity of effort on the results you’ve seen so far; give your full effort even when it seems pointless to do so.

Make it your mission to keep striving to create a better life, and you will find that you’ll have no choice but to comply with your desire.

Don’t make excuses, make it happen!

One of the most common reasons that people struggle to feel motivated is because they have lost hope that their lives can ever be any different.

You can see the devastating effect of hopelessness in impoverished areas of the world.

Where there is little opportunity, little progress and little resources, there is also usually little hope.

You’ve probably even noticed this in your own life.

If you’ve struggled to make changes and failed, or wanted to make changes but didn’t see any way to do it, you probably ended up with a sense of futility and hopelessness that dashed your dreams.

Then what happened?

You gave up because there seemed to be no reason to keep trying.

One of the best ways to renew your motivation is by choosing to be hopeful again.

Yes, you can CHOOSE to be hopeful, if you can open your mind to possibilities you may not have considered before.

Remember that this universe is filled with mystery and surprises.

Think about the last time you were sure there was no hope and then suddenly things turned around in a way you never could have guessed would happen.

Maybe you found yourself in a jam or felt panicked because you were faced with intimidating circumstances, and then suddenly as if from nowhere, a solution magically appeared.

It happens more than you would suspect.

You just never know where assistance will come from, and the many ways the universe can work in partnership with you to make your dreams a reality.

There are many ways to become hopeful again, but here are just a few:

1) Acknowledge that just because you can’t see a way to make your dreams come true, a way might still exist.

When working toward a goal, you don’t have to have all the answers when you start.

You don’t even have to have all the answers the whole way through!

All you need to know is what your next step is, and hold a willingness to trust that everything will work out.

2) Start stretching your concept of what is possible for your life.

Right now you probably have a mental set point of achievement that is open to you, but in reality your set point might be much, much higher than you think!

Begin expanding on your dreams and see what else you can do to grow and develop your potential.

3) Get into the habit of thinking creatively.

Rather than accepting things for what they are, begin using creative inspiration to transform them into something better.

If you run into obstacles that you can’t seem to find a way out of, open your mind and consult your gut for possible solutions.

Probably more exist than you can imagine!

If you don’t panic, stay calm and simply open to the possibilities, you’re bound to notice one or two that will work.

Little by little these techniques should help you to recapture a growing sense of hope about your life.

And where there is hope, there is always a chance to succeed.

Time really flies, huh.

Just a bash of an eyelid and now, it’s the end of the year again.

I have quite a lot of people askng me where have I been for the past 2 months as I have not been sending out much emails.

Well, here’s I have been doing…

In October, after my successful launch of Inbox Cash Blueprint, I took a short break in Oct and do nothing but relax and have fun.

I was booked through out the whole of November for speaking gigs and I travelled to 5 different places to share tips and secrets on how I achieve success online.

I went to Indonesian, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and it was real fun mingling with success entrepreneurs and see how most of them overcame all odds to be successful.

The feedbacks from the workshop are fantastic and in every workshop that I conducted, there will be a few fellas who will go on to make a lot of money.

And I am now expecting to see some results from the participants.

As I take a break for the past 2 weeks…

When I come to think about it, it doesn’t seem too long ago when I was struggling financially… trying to save every penny so I could pay my debts.

This happened barely 4 years ago, when I also took the risk of venturing into a new online business that is quite unheard of in Singapore at that time.

Back then, I pretty much shut myself from the world, focusing entirely on this business.

In fact, I didn’t even manage to celebrate Christmas or the New Year with my love ones.

I was like this underground guerilla marketer in the basement busy drafting plans to dominate the internet with this huge marketing campaign – except that I didn’t had a basement.

Most of the products and content that you see are actually created in my little bedroom. I literally built my online business from scratch.

So, to cut the long story short, after I ran my retail business to the ground… I was just too tired of doing anything new that was remotely difficult.

I wanted a proven business model that I could just copy and apply right away.

I didn’t dare risking the odds trying to re-invent the wheel.

I just picked out an available business model that is proven to make money, focused on it and stuck with it all the way. So there it was, I got my first online business set up.

There were times when things got more challenging… especially when you are a newbie in this new industry; it’s really hard not to get tempted by so many new business opportunities that promise to bring you financial freedom.

Everything sounds too good to turn away.

It definitely took a lot of discipline for me to say “no” to them.

Because, if you guys have been paying attention, you realize that history has a tendency of repeating itself.

New opportunities come up and people start hoping from one opportunity to another, without accomplishing what they originally set out to do.

Experience has taught me that, I didn’t need the next ‘big thing’ to become rich.

All I need to do is just focus on one thing that has proven to work and keep doing it.

Unfortunately, several people have the false impression that having hundreds of websites means having a higher income and they end up struggling to pay to maintain these websites.

If they could just pick the most profitable niche amongst the many websites that they have and just focus entirely on it, they will definitely see a dramatic increase in their income.

But I have to admit though, earning the first $10,000 is probably the toughest part of this business. There’s a lot of trial and error work to be done.

But once you’re able to hit the mark, things start to become easier.

The guessing work have already been done, all you need to do is to repeat the things that works.

So that’s exactly what I did… But I didn’t do it just for another $10,000 in cash.

I wanted more. You may think that would also mean that I may have to put in a lot more work than already did right?

So I spend a couple of nights in the bedroom trying to figure how I can do more by doing less. And if possible, automate my whole business – that would definitely been great.

By the fifth night, I got it figured.

And I’m kinda embarrassed by the fact that it actually took me this long to come up with this idea. It’s pretty common sense if you were to think about it.

And trust me on this one, my friend. If anybody were to tell you that there is no such thing as an automated business… I’m telling you, they are dead wrong.

In fact, 99% of your business can be automated.

You just have to get somebody to do it for you! So, instead of doing all the work that I’m already used to. I hired 2 guys, both experts in their fields, to handle the different departments of my business.

Just a figure of speech, but they are like my arms and legs of my business. Anytime, I can just go on a holiday knowing that I could rely on them to help me run my business.

So, in mid 2008, I accumulated more than 20,000 subscribers to my list and I was already pulling in a stable low-end 5-figure monthly income.

I was turning my annual income into my quarter income.

Another year later – in mid 2009, I achieved another breakthrough.

I managed to scale up my business; with the help of my 2 assistance.

And in less than 3 months, I finally hit the 6 figure per month mark.

I was already making a lot more in ONE month than I could make in the whole of last year.

I finally succeeded in turning my annual income into my monthly income.

Not only that, I also got the privilege of just putting my business aside and I managed to travel to 6 different countries for holidays – A feat that I never thought possible when I was managing my retail business.

So you see, there isn’t really any secret to becoming successful online. It’s about doing the same boring things that work.

And it all deal with focus, consistency and automation.

Is It Worth 15 Years Of Hardwork?

I had one of the best cinematic experience last night, if not… the best.

A couple of my close friends suggested that it was time we did something more relaxing, instead of the usual adrenaline junk.

So we decided to catch a movie… and the majority agreed upon Watching Avatar on 3D.

Well, I’m not a big fan of CG movies, so Watching “Avatar,” sort of reminded me the same I had when I first saw “Star Wars”.

That was another movie I walked into with uncertain expectations.

But everything changed when “Pandora” came onto the scene.

James Cameron’s film has been the subject of relentlessly dubious advance buzz, just as his “Titanic” was.

But once again, he has silenced the doubters by pushing the limits of today’s technology and delivered an extraordinary film.

What really amazed me was that James Cameron had already foreseen this film to be made since 15 years ago.

He had a vision.

A vision of an entirely different world that is so immersive, its native cultures so well realized on screen that any fantasy novelists watching will surely weep from the world-building gauntlet thrown down.

In 1996, James Cameron announced that he would make the film after completing Titanic.

But in December 2006, he explained that the delay in producing the film since the 1990s had to be shelved until the technology necessary to create his project was advanced enough.

And now, he has done it.

This is indeed a dream come true for a man who have fought 15 years to make this movie happen.

I was truly inspired.

And it made me pondered about the things I did to get to where I am today; the struggles I had faced while I was building up my internet business to feed my family.

Although it took me only 2 years of hardwork to accomplish my goals, I would be willing to wait for as long as James Cameron did to achieve them.

What I see in many new online marketers is that they are building castles in the sky, unknowingly.

They want the things that internet marketing can bring them, but they are just not willing to put in the hardwork or have enough patience to see it through.

Trust me, if you want to start achieving great wealth then I suggest that you start putting away with this “something for nothing” mindset.

It just doesn’t work… it’s either you start working on your business now and be lazy later or you can be a bum now and regret later.

So friends, I’ve a question for you.

“What Is It That’s So Important To You That You Would Exchange It With 5 Years Of Your Life?”

For me, it is to see that my parents are no longer worry that they have to work for the rest of their life so that they can put food on the table.
